Service finder
Answer two simple questions for a starting point. You do not need to know the service name before contacting us.
Medical transfer, evacuation, escort or repatriation.
Human remains, funeral or dead body repatriation.
Final suitability depends on medical assessment, documentation, route, aircraft or airline availability, airport approvals and applicable regulations.
Share the case details and a coordinator will review the options available for that route and condition. For an immediate case, calling is fastest.

Who we are
Air Ambulanceia is the international coordination division of Ambulanceia. We work on cases that cross borders: moving patients who need medical support in the air, and returning deceased persons to their families.
Our team coordinates international patient movement, medical repatriation, air ambulance arrangements, medical escorts, deceased-person repatriation, India-side ground transportation, airport coordination and case documentation.
We arrange transport with selected service providers, operators and funeral facilities rather than claiming ownership of aircraft, hospitals or mortuary facilities. Every case is planned around the medical assessment and the specific rules of the countries, airports and carriers involved.
Services
Each service has its own dedicated page with the process, documentation and route coverage for that case type.
International air ambulance coordination for patients requiring specialised medical transportation.
International patient repatriation to India or onward to another destination.
International hospital-to-hospital and facility-to-facility patient transfers.
International medical evacuation coordination from locations with limited care options.
Commercial airline stretcher coordination where permitted and medically appropriate.
Ground, air and ground medical transfer coordination as one continuous movement.
International deceased-person transportation with documentation coordination.
Medical capability
Transport is planned around the clinical picture, with the crew and equipment level set by the medical assessment.
All medical transport is subject to medical assessment and operational availability. Crew, equipment and aircraft configuration are confirmed per case with the operator.
Repatriation
Air Ambulanceia assists families and organisations coordinating the return of deceased persons to India, and outbound cases from India.
Requirements vary by country, airline, airport and case circumstances, and must be confirmed for each individual case.
Process
Six stages from first contact to arrival in India.
Step 1
Reach us by phone, WhatsApp or the enquiry form at any hour.
Step 2
Location, hospital or authority involved, medical condition or death certificate status, and the intended destination.
Step 3
Reports or documentation are reviewed so the correct transport option can be identified.
Step 4
Operator or airline options, clearances, and documentation steps are planned for the route.
Step 5
The patient or the deceased person travels with the arranged escort, handling and monitoring.
Step 6
Ground ambulance or transfer vehicle meets the flight and completes the movement.
Which service applies
Families often do not know which service they need. This is how the options differ — the final choice follows the medical assessment, not a preference.
A dedicated aircraft configured for medical transport, with a medical team and equipment on board.
May suit
Critical, unstable, ventilated or ICU patients, and cases where a commercial flight is not appropriate.
Note
Highest level of in-flight care, and the highest cost.
Movement from a location where the required level of treatment may not be available.
May suit
Cases where transfer to a more suitable facility is clinically recommended.
Note
The transport mode depends on condition, distance, access and medical assessment.
A coordinated movement between treating and receiving hospitals, including clinical handover.
May suit
Patients moving for specialist treatment or continued care in another city or country.
Note
Receiving-facility acceptance should be confirmed before departure.
The complete cross-border patient journey, including ground and air legs.
May suit
Patients whose movement crosses national borders and needs coordinated support.
Note
Passports, visas, medical clearance and airport requirements may apply.
The patient travels on a scheduled commercial flight accompanied by a doctor, nurse or paramedic.

Note
Requires airline medical clearance. Considerably less costly than a dedicated aircraft.
A stretcher installed across several seats in the cabin of a scheduled aircraft, with a medical escort.
May suit
Patients who cannot sit up but are stable enough for commercial travel.
Note
Subject to airline approval and limited availability; must be arranged well in advance.
The full chain — hospital bed, ground ambulance, flight, ground ambulance, receiving bed — managed as one movement.
May suit
Any case where the family does not want to arrange the ground legs separately.
Note
A way of organising the transfer rather than a transport type in itself.
The overall process of returning a patient to their home country or chosen destination for continued care.
May suit
Critical, unstable, ventilated or ICU patients, and cases where a commercial flight is not appropriate.
Note
Delivered by air ambulance, medical escort or stretcher, depending on the assessment.
International transportation of a deceased person, with the local, consular and airline formalities coordinated.
May suit
Families bringing a relative who died abroad home for funeral rites.
Note
A separate process from patient transport, with its own documentation.
These comparisons are general guidance. Final suitability is case-dependent and follows medical assessment, carrier or operator approval, route feasibility, documentation and applicable regulations.
Medical assessment
Nothing is confirmed on the basis of a website form alone. Suitability, and the level of care required, is determined after the medical information has been reviewed by a qualified medical team or the operator’s medical officer.
The final transport method is determined after appropriate medical assessment. Air Ambulanceia does not make clinical decisions and nothing on this website constitutes medical advice.
Guidance
The three questions families ask first: what paperwork is needed, what determines the cost, and what happens at the airport.

FAQ
It is an aircraft configured for patient transport, carrying medical crew and equipment so clinical care continues in flight. It is used when a patient’s condition makes ordinary commercial travel unsuitable.
The medical reports are reviewed, a transport mode is selected, clearances and documents are arranged, and the patient travels with an appropriate escort, with ground ambulance legs at both ends.
We can assess and coordinate long-range transfer options from North America to India with selected operators. Routing and technical stops are confirmed per case.
We can assess and coordinate options from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to India, subject to medical and operational requirements.
An air ambulance is a dedicated aircraft with medical crew. A medical escort is a medical professional accompanying a patient on a scheduled commercial flight. The medical assessment decides which is suitable.

After local release and registration formalities, the body is embalmed and prepared as required, documents are assembled and attested, carriage is booked with an airline or cargo service, and arrival is cleared in India before onward transfer.
Commonly the death certificate, embalming and no-infectious-disease certificates, police or hospital clearance where applicable, the passport of the deceased, embassy attestation and airline documentation. Requirements vary by country and airline.
It depends on local formalities, documentation, embassy processing and flight availability. We share a realistic case-specific estimate instead of a guaranteed timeline.
